We have all been in a moment of desperation. Where we come up against a difficulty, a struggle, a Chasm, or a mountain as if it were where we have no place to go. For Christians like Phil Wickham and others, we turn and gaze into heaven in prayer, asking God to intervene. Then God does intervene. Sometimes, he answers in a way we hope and expect he will. Then, sometimes, he answers unexpectedly and provides a better way than we ever expected.
In 1 Samuel 1: 12-20, Hannah’s prayer of desperation is recorded. Then, in 1 Samuel 1 21-28, God’s answer to her prayer is recorded, and in 1 Samuel 2: 1-11, Hannah’s prayer of praise to God for how he worked through the situation is recorded. In today’s episode, we will dig into these verses and pull out some practical truths from this event.
