Strengthen Your Walk: Revival begins with you!

With all that is happening in the world and our current culture, I believe it is more important than ever for authentic Christians, who call themselves devoted followers of Jesus Christ, to strengthen their walk with him.

In the last podcast, I spoke about Noah’s Walk with the Lord and used his example to help us strengthen our walk with Jesus. On today’s podcast, we will be in 2 Chronicles 34, looking at the life of King Josiah from the Old Testament in a message entitled: Strengthen Your Walk: Revival begins with you.

With this story of Josiah, we see that revival begins with you.

Josiah sought after the Lord God.
Josiah cultivated a love for God by spending time with him. In these alone times, he learned about God. He prayed and repented of his sins before God. As King, he took ownership of his own spiritual walk with the Lord.
When Josiah understood what God wanted him with conviction, he took action and cleaned the land.
By reading the word to the inhabitants of Judea, he spread revival in the nation by making a covenant before the Lord. To walk after the Lord and keep his commandments, testimonies, and statutes with all his heart and soul.
To perform the words of the covenant written in Scripture.

A summary of Josiah’s Christian Walk is recorded in 2 Chronicles 34:2

Josiah did what was right in the eyes of God
Josiah walked in the ways his father David did
He did not turn aside to the left or the right; Joshiah walked straight. Commentator John McArthur point’s out that “Josiah had complete devotion to God’s approved course of conduct in his life.”
